Scholarships
The purpose of the IEC Foundation Scholarship Fund is to provide annual scholarships to both entering and continuing college students, technical or trade school students or apprenticeship students in an IEC-approved apprenticeship program, who are employees of contractor or associate member companies, their children or grandchildren. The fund was established in 2008 to provide an ongoing service to members of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC). Scholarships are in the amount of $2,000 each. For apprentice students the scholarship is comprised of funding for tuition, books and tools. For college students, it is a full cash grant to be applied toward tuition. Grants for each scholarship winner will be paid directly to your educational institution for your benefit. Grants will be awarded in the following categories:
Criteria for Selection The selection committee will evaluate each applicant according to criteria established by the IEC Foundation. The criteria generally focus on a combination of the student's academic merit, interest in the electrical industry, letter of recommendation from sponsor, the student's essay, and community involvement, as shown below. The personal data listed on the front sheet will not be furnished to the selection committee, so it is a blind selection process.
