These grants can be used for activities or tangible items that help to grow and develop the chapter. Grant funds cannot be used for wages of any type. Some examples of grant request items are website development, chapter event funding, and travel and registration expenses for trainings and conferences. The IEC Foundation Home Depot ProXtra Grant
With proceeds from the Home Depot Rewards Program, IECF provides funding supporting the development and improvement of IEC training centers’ labs and classrooms. The intent of this grant is to upgrade the educational experience of both apprentices and continuing education attendees. Some examples of grant request items are furniture, paint, carpet, electronics, classroom equipment and computers. Chapters are not limited to the examples listed for grant requests.
- Chapters can apply for the grant on an annual basis. Chapters will be able to apply based on size and need (chapters who generate less revenue will be prioritized for awards).
- Chapters who were awarded in the previous year will be required to have a site visit, in order to apply for the following year’s RFP cycle.
There are three levels of awards:
- $4,000.00 maximum for large chapters (75 or more members)
- $8,000.00 maximum for medium chapters (26 to 75 members)
- $12,000.00 for the smaller chapters (25 members or less).
